Course Description:

This interactive, hands-on workshop is designed to immediately apply the concepts presented during the morning session, allowing participants to translate implant fundamentals into practical clinical skills. Through guided exercises, participants will work through implant case planning, CBCT-based assessment, and surgical execution using both freehand and guided techniques placing implants in models. Emphasis will be placed on proper case selection, surgical sequencing, and decision-making to improve confidence, accuracy, and efficiency. Participants will gain tactile experience with implant placement protocols in a controlled learning environment, reinforcing best practices for predictable outcomes. This workshop is ideal for clinicians seeking to build or expand their implant placement skills while developing repeatable workflows that can be confidently implemented in daily practice.

Learning Objectives:

•  Apply CBCT analysis principles to evaluate bone volume, anatomical landmarks, and implant positioning for predictable surgical planning
•  Demonstrate proper implant placement techniques using both freehand and guided surgical approaches in a simulated clinical setting
•  Execute a step-by-step implant surgical workflow, including osteotomy preparation, implant insertion, and assessment of primary stability
•  Select appropriate implant components and surgical techniques based on case complexity, anatomy, and clinician experience level
•  Integrate hands-on implant placement skills into a consistent, efficient workflow that supports increased confidence and expanded implant case acceptance

About the Speaker:

Dr. Kenneth Troutman, DDS, FAGD, MIIF grew up in Boonville, IN and graduated as Valedictorian of Boonville High School in 1994. He attended the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville and received his B.S. in Biology where he graduated as Magna Cum Laude in 1998. Upon graduation from the University of Southern Indiana, he twice received the award for Excellence in Pre-Dentistry. Dr. Troutman received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis in 2002. In 2008, Dr. Troutman completed a Dental Implant externship at the Midwest Implant Institute (MII) in Ohio. In 2011 he was awarded Fellowship status at MII. After receiving his Doctorate degree, Dr. Troutman was proud to return to his home area and practice dentistry in Huntingburg where he excels in a wide range of General, Cosmetic, Restorative, Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry procedures. Dr. Troutman is committed to staying on the leading edge of dentistry and dental technology and to providing excellent care to his patients.
