Ultra-Conservative Restorative Dentistry: Prevention, Remineralization, and Early Aesthetic Intervention

Advances in adhesive dentistry allow clinicians to manage patients along a continuum—from early disease interception to conservative reconstruction. This two-part educational program explores how modern adhesive techniques enable dentists to preserve natural tooth structure while delivering aesthetic and predictable outcomes.

Each course is designed to stand independently while also forming part of a larger philosophy of care that prioritizes prevention, conservation, and long-term patient health.

Modern dentistry increasingly allows clinicians to intervene before traditional restorative procedures become necessary. This course focuses on ultra-conservative strategies that halt disease progression while preserving natural tooth structure and improving aesthetics.

Through carefully curated and well-documented clinical cases—each supported by long-term follow-up—participants will explore modern preventive and interceptive therapies including remineralization strategies, peptide-based enamel regeneration, internal and external bleaching, resin infiltration for the management of white spot lesions and early interproximal caries, and predictable tooth fragment reattachment.

This session highlights how modern preventive and interceptive therapies can significantly extend the life of natural dentition.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Abdi Sameni is a 1991 graduate of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC). He lectures nationally and internationally on interdisciplinary dentistry, digital photography in clinical practice, and various aspects of biomimetic and esthetic dentistry.

Dr. Sameni is the founder of the Los Angeles Dental Symposium (est. 2019) and was the developer and inaugural chairman of the USC International Restorative Dentistry Symposium. In 2024, he became a member of the Bio-Emulation group, a global collective focused on biologically inspired dentistry.

He is a member of numerous distinguished organizations, including the American College of Dentists, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society.

Dr. Sameni formerly served as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Dentistry at USC, where he also taught in the “Esthetic Selective,” a program emphasizing a biomimetic approach to restorative and esthetic care. He was the original director of the USC Advanced Esthetic Dentistry Continuum, specifically overseeing the curriculum on indirect porcelain veneers.

He maintains a private practice focused on comprehensive restorative and esthetic dentistry in West Los Angeles, California.
