Course Description:

Artificial intelligence is rapidly gaining attention in dentistry, yet many clinicians remain uncertain about its practical value, limitations, and long-term role in private practice. This course provides a clear, evidence-informed overview of how AI is being implemented in real-world clinical workflows while reinforcing the clinician as the primary diagnostician.

Using case-based examples from a private practice serving over 11,000 active patients, this session demonstrates how AI can enhance diagnostic clarity, support patient education, and improve chairside communication without replacing clinical judgment. Applications in radiology, case presentation, and chart audit processes will be reviewed with a focus on practical implementation.

Participants will also explore how AI can support clinical calibration across providers and improve consistency in treatment planning. Attendees will leave with a balanced understanding of what AI can and cannot do, along with simple, actionable workflows to support efficiency, team alignment, and clinical performance.

About the Speaker:

Sheela Roth, BS, RDH, is the Head of Clinical Education at Pearl, where she leads initiatives focused on practice transformation, clinical performance, and the adoption of dental AI. With a background in practice operations and team development, she brings a practical, results-driven approach to education.

Sheela previously founded Absolute Dental Business Solutions, a practice management consultancy, and continues to advise a high-performing dental practice serving more than 11,000 active patients. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Loma Linda University and is a Registered Dental Hygienist.
