Pre-requisite: This lecture required for Dr. Landwehr’s afternoon workshop.

Course Description:

Connecting endodontics, restorative and CAD-CAM for the most profitable single visit in your office. This comprehensive and interactive multi-level course will demonstrate an innovative, step-by-step treatment protocol that significantly reduces workflow time and integrates current endodontic, adhesive, and restorative materials with digital technologies to potentially create the most profitable single visit in dentistry. The lecture will walk through each step of root canal therapy—with each step building on the success of the previous phase. The second part of the lecture will introduce innovative protocols for post and/or core placement, tooth preparation and cementation that will enable same visit digital scanning and milling with a CAD-CAM system and final placement of the ceramic crown. Alternatively, if scanning and milling is not attainable, the practitioner will also be able to achieve a reduction in patient visits using conventional impression methods.

Learning Objectives:

  • Implement innovative and reduced workflows for integrating endodontic therapy (access to obturation) with chairside scanning and milling.
  • Understand the full scope of endodontic and restorative diagnostic risk factors necessary to treatment plan tooth preservation or tooth removal.
  • Demonstrate how precise preparation can improve CAD-CAM and conventional impressions for compromised teeth.

About the Speaker: A Wisconsin native, Dr. Landwehr studied as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and went on to earn his D.D.S. at the University of Minnesota in 1994. From there he completed training in two dental specialties. First, he earned an M.S. degree and certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at The Ohio State University in 1997 and then completed specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Michigan in 1999. Dr. Landwehr returned to Wisconsin in 1999 and has been in private practice since that time. Though his practice focuses on endodontics, his dual certification in endodontics and oral pathology makes him uniquely qualified to diagnose sources of oral pain. He has presented case studies and research findings both nationally and internationally. In addition, he has published several articles in various peer reviewed journals and served as an evidence reviewer for the American Dental Association. He is also Chief of Endodontics for the Meriter Hospital general practice residency program in Madison, WI.
