Welcome, everyone! Men and women! You do not need to have any prior experience to attend! In this course, yoga will be de-mystified. Many people have misconceptions about this practice and feel like it may not fit into their lives. We will discuss yoga, as well as other lifestyle practices, that can help bring us a sense of calm and focus. You will learn that yoga is for everyone and can help provide relief from physical discomfort due to ergonomic challenges common in our profession. We know that dentistry is very physically and mentally challenging for all members of the dental team.  You will learn strategies to help lower stress and improve your overall sense of well-being and will have the opportunity to participate in a yoga class designed for the dental professionals. Whether you are someone trying yoga for the first time or an experienced practitioner, this course is for you.  You will notice the benefits are immediate. Past participants have left feeling refreshed, calm and smiling!

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn what yoga is (and is not) as well as how to apply the principles of yoga to your work and life to help restore balance, focus, and a calm mind.
  • Learn yoga postures that can help ease musculoskeletal pain common in dental professionals.
  • Learn stress management techniques to help with the challenges we experience in dentistry.
  • Participate in a yoga session designed specifically for the dental team.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Elizabeth Burns has been practicing dentistry for 30 years. She is also a Registered Yoga Instructor, having studied at the Chopra Center, and a Certified Life Coach through the International Coaching Federation. She has presented courses on yoga, meditation, and stress reduction with a special focus on dental professionals. Financial Relationship – none reported.
