Course Description:

Welcome everyone! Men and women! You do not need to have any prior experience to attend! We will discuss yoga, as well as other lifestyle practices, that can help bring us a sense of calm and focus. You will learn how yoga can help provide relief from physical discomfort due to ergonomic challenges common in our profession. We know that dentistry is very physically and mentally challenging for all members of the dental team. We will discuss strategies to help lower stress and improve your overall sense of well-being. You will have the opportunity to participate in a yoga class designed for the dental professional and for all levels -first timers to seasoned practitioners. Past participants have left feeling calm, refreshed, and smiling 🙂

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn what yoga is (and is not) as well as how to apply the principles of yoga to your work and life to help restore balance, focus, and a calm mind.
  • Learn yoga postures that can help ease musculoskeletal pain common in dental professionals.
  • Learn stress management techniques to help with the challenges we experience in dentistry.
  • Participate in a yoga session designed specifically for the dental team.

About the Speaker: Dr. Elizabeth Burns practiced dentistry for 30 years. She is a Registered Yoga Instructor and has studied mindfulness and meditation. She has presented courses on yoga, meditation, and stress reduction with a special focus on dental professionals.
